Despite challenging economic conditions, the cryptosphere is still hiring. As reported by Forbes on April 24, job postings for cryptocurrency roles actually increased 4.77% on jobs site Indeed since the turn of the year. In March, amid many countries imposing mandatory lockdowns, the share of jobs vacancies for crypto-related roles increased by almost 10%.

From developers and software architects to operations engineers and business development managers, the blockchain industry is continuing to onboard talent as projects take shape. This is at least partly motivated by the fact that many such firms employ a disproportionate number of remote workers, who can hit the ground running from anywhere on the planet.

CoinMarketCap: Engineers

CoinMarketCap is a trusted aggregator of crypto asset and exchange rankings, with a mission to make crypto discoverable and understandable globally. Launched in 2013 and employing a fully remote workforce, CoinMarketCap was acquired by Binance Capital Management in April 2020, though it continues to operate independently from its parent company.

At the present time, CoinMarketCap is recruiting a site reliability engineer, a tools engineer, a front end engineer and a full stack engineer.

The pandemic is a challenging time for all of us, but if you happen to be seeking gainful employment in the blockchain world, there’s an endless array of opportunities available.

Lightcurve: Backend Developer — Microservices

Lightcurve is Berlin’s largest blockchain studio. The thriving development consultancy boasts a team of 27 employees who have been busy building blockchain application platform Lisk for the past few years. Founded in 2016, the non-profit specializes in researching next-level cryptography and developing consensus protocols and intuitive user interfaces. The team is made up of developers, researchers, marketing pros, accountants, legal counsel and business development experts, with 15 nationalities representing a very diverse workforce.

At present, Lightcurve are seeking a Microservice Developer who can help with their flagship Lisk project, an open-source platform written in Javascript. Responsibilities include preserving code quality, developing WebSocket based APIs, root-cause analysis and integrating third-party services such as crypto exchanges.

Lightcurve is also seeking to recruit an office manager, a technology evangelist with a background in development, developer relations and public speaking, and an experienced frontend developer.

Symbridge: Software Engineer — Golang/Go

Built by traders for traders, Symbridge is one of few US-based digital asset exchanges with an institutional focus. Known for its high-frequency, low-latency trading and transparent pricing, Symbridge is regulated by state and federal laws, with funds secured in cold storage with third-party custodians and no private or public keys retained. 

Symbridge is expanding quickly and seeking to hire a seasoned Golang software engineer who loves to collaborate across the enterprise and has strong cross-functional planning and prioritization skills. If you fit the bill, get your application in.

Exodus.io: Community Support Engineer (AMER and EMEA Time Zone)

Exodus is responsible for one of the most popular noncustodial crypto wallets in existence. Launched in 2016, the user-friendly multi-asset wallet — which is available for desktop and mobile — enables users to hold over 100 coins including Bitcoin, Dash and Ether, complete with live charts, a built-in exchange and 24/7 customer support.

Exodus is in the market for a community support engineer who is passionate about digital assets and problem-solving. Exodus CSEs will build relationships with customers via email and social media and create support articles for the site’s Knowledge Base; Exodus are recruiting one English-speaking candidate and another who is fluent in both English and Russian.

Binance: Business Operations Specialist — SE Asia

Although it’s only been around for three years, Binance has quickly risen to become the world’s biggest and best-known cryptocurrency exchange. It’s more than just an exchange, of course: it’s also an IEO launchpad, a margin trading and staking platform, a research division, a mining pool, a charity, an incubator and so on. Recently, new Binance registrations approached levels last witnessed during the peak of the 2017 bull run.

Binance always seems to be recruiting, which is great news for freelancers and others with technical expertise who find themselves out of work. At the moment, Binance is hiring a SE Asia business operations specialist to develop and manage relationships with clients, agents and partners throughout the region. Boosting sales by researching accounts, identifying key players and forming long-lasting connections will be the main duties, and the recruit must be fluent in English with native knowledge of at least one regional language (Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian or Chinese). Although crypto expertise isn’t crucial, it’s certainly a plus.

OKCoin: Lead Designer — San Francisco

Lunie is the staking and governance platform for proof-of-stake

OKCoin is a leading global digital asset exchange founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Hong Kong, Malta, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines. Formerly one of China’s big three crypto exchanges, OKCoin moved to the United States after Chinese fiat-to-crypto trading was banned in 2017, and recently became the first non-Japanese exchange to obtain a license from the country’s regulators. OKCoin boasts a user base of millions and a workforce of over 1,000, servicing traders from over 180 countries.

At the moment, the firm is looking to hire someone to help grow the team and implement visionary design leadership. The new recruit will be based out of San Francisco and tasked with managing and developing expanding UX/UI and visual design teams, while collaborating with leadership peers in various departments. At least seven years’ design experience and two years of management is required. 

You don’t have to be based stateside to apply to join OKCoin, though: the company is also hiring data analysts, general and trading-focused product managers, UX writers and UX/UI designers in locations including Singapore, Malta and Hong Kong. It’s fair to say the bulk of vacancies are at headquarters, though.

ByBit: Product Manager and Frontend Engineers — Singapore

Bitcoin derivatives exchange Bybit is expanding fast, with an influx of new users coupled with growing volume compelling the Singapore-headquartered platform to embark on a recruitment drive. No less than four frontend engineers are being sought to help maintain the Bybit website and mobile platform; at least two years of experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript and ES6 syntax are expected.

In addition, Bybit is on the hunt for a product manager who can help improve the exchange’s growing range of products and services.
