Backslide  Over the last 24 hours, total market capitalization dipped slightly from ~$225.4 billion to ~$221.7 billion, with most coins seeing losses in the ~1-4% range. 24-hour volume registered ~$55.7 billion. BTC is currently trading at ~$8,170, down ~1.9% over yesterday. On the daily chart, BTC continues to be trading below its 100-day EMA line. RSI is at ~38.5, indicative of moderate bearish momentum.  |
Going digital The South Korean government intends to create a digital trade foundation and lower trade costs with blockchain technology, a move introduced under the country's Development Plan for Digital Trade. Blockchain, big data and AI will be used to digitize the whole Korean trade finance ecosystem by 2021, forging a "digital trading platform that can be easily and conveniently used in all stages of export, such as contracts, customs and logistics". |
Environmental benefits  The Ford Motor Company is eyeing blockchain technology and geofencing to accurately track the "green miles" driven by its energy-efficient automobiles.  It is broadening its European plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) test project to Colonge, Germany, and will record all metadata on the blockchain to possibly maximize its PHEV vehicle fleets' environmental benefits.  The blockchain technology tested in Colonge "enables secure, tamper-proof tracking and logging of vehicle emissions records, which makes it ideal for the PHEV pilot". |
First of its kind  Crypto exchange Binance has partnered with local Swiss startup Amun to establish a dedicated exchange-traded product (ETF) for Binance Coin (BNB) on the SIX Exchange, a Swiss Stock Exchange. The investment tool features physically-backed contracts, and is the first for Binance's in-house cryptocurrency token BNB, with possible greater options for traders in the future.  Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO, stated that the partnership "will provide investors with a new and regulated asset class with a unique dimension to utility tokens, making them more accessible and reliable through a traditional financial infrastructure". |

Other news  Bank of England Governor Mark Carney recently defended Facebook's new Libra stablecoin and highlighted the shortcomings of the current traditional financial system.  CipherTrace, a U.S.-based blockchain security company, has widened its cryptocurrency intelligence platform to 700 tokens.  The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) declared that it has included the term for Bitcoin (BTC)'s smallest unit, "Satoshi".

"Why or why not?" Smart coins makes sense but haven't seen very many – very many good ones*  because of smart contract, echo system of hardware wallets & interfaces to interact with the chain, Vitalik & the eth developers i like ethereum.. i am also keenly watching Zilliqa, i think it is another cool project to watch for in coming months. – Hahaha, but can Ziliqa beat ETH’s adoption? I really love Enjin – Guess you got a couple of ENJ in your bags! Because persistent in price – Relative to other alts I believe XRP we be the future – Hahaha hmmm Strong and reliable, improving fast – Can’t wait for 2.0!  Mostly because it been established. – Yeah, that’s a huge thing it has going for it actually.  |
